What We believe

God

There is one God who created all things, including each of us. We believe God is living and active in our lives. We believe that God desires a relationship with His people and pursues us relentlessly. We believe that God’s son, Jesus Christ, is the manifestation of that pursuit.

Salvation

Just as sin separates us from God, the love of God seeks to mend that separation. When the souls of sinful man cried out, God answered with Jesus, His son. We believe that Jesus died to deliver salvation to mankind and that salvation is found only through a faith in Jesus Christ

Scripture

We can know God through the texts of ancient writers that we find in His scriptures. We believe that the Bible is the complete story of God’s promise. Written by men, inspired by God, compiled by providence. We accept these texts as true and the basis for all we do.

Baptism

We believe that salvation is found by faith alone, however, we also believe the Bible teaches that the faith that saves is the faith that obeys. We find that scripture teaches us that the blood of Jesus has brought about full forgiveness of sin and that the way to access the benefits of that blood, by faith, is in water baptism.

Sin

Sin is real. We live in a sinful world. We are sinful creatures corrupted by this world. Though this is the natural course of mankind, it is not the desire of God, as sin separates us from Him. Jesus, through His death, destroyed the barrier of sin for those who accept Him.

The Kingdom

We believe God established His church through Christ and that it still exists today. We believe the church to include all who sincerely accept Jesus Christ as Lord and King and believe in His death, burial, and resurrection. Though we will always teach scripture as we understand it, we will never make agreement with us to be a precondition for participation.

New Testament Pattern

We believe the example of the early Christians offers direction on how we should conduct ourselves as a church. This is why we maintain autonomy, free from any church bureaucracy or larger hierarchy.

Communion

Communion is a proclamation, an affirmation, and a celebration. We hold this sacred tradition in high esteem and we are blessed to share in communion each week. It is the centerpiece of our worship service. We practice open communion and believe the scriptures teach that participation is a personal choice.
